Hackathon

Hackathon

In this Hackathon, we developed a proposal of an adaptive car's mirror, using image processing and machine learning. It was an excellent experience to see which the breakthrough technologies available are. I met new people and work as a team, winning the price of the “most voted idea”.

3D printed mobile support

3D printed mobile support

This was my first 3D printed part. It is a support designed by me using CAD software and other sw to generate de gcode. The idea was to experience how 3D printers works and to see how difficult it is to build your own part.

Citilab's Makers Club

Citilab's Makers Club

As member of the maker Club, I helped to build a home made CNC machine using the parts from the project RepRap Cyclone. The parts were 3D-printed and we follow tutorials to build the machine.

UPC FoundersLAb

UPC FoundersLAb

This great team gave me the opportunity to be in charge of the diffusion campaign of a unique event that brought students and startups together. I learned how to create events in Eventbrite, read metrics, follow links to evaluate the effectiveness of share and learned how to optimize the use of twitter to find leads.

New packaging design

New packaging design

In this Challenge I was encouraged to design a packaging system for switches (blue parts in photos) using scrap plastic from a company's manufacturing process. The conceptual idea focuses on minimizing the use of material and reducing parts dimensions in order to make manufacturability cheap.

In this Challenge participants were encourage to design a device that reduces hand tremors on patients. This are uncontrollable hand movement that unable persons to perform daily task such as writing. The proposal was to used small and flexible dampers within a hand glove which will reduce the vibrations amplitudes.

Quick coupling system design

Quick coupling system design

As part of a challenge I performed a design of a quick release clamp used to maintain sea brick and a cavity sealed. The solution focused on simplicity, reduced number of pieces and fast assembly. The advantage of this design is that to adjust the seal pressure there is needed only a wrench.

B+B Tecnologías Integradas

B+B Tecnologías Integradas

As mechanical design engineer of a recently created company I had to do several task not only related to technical aspects like design and model of mechanical components; but also related to marketing, project organization and others. In general despite we were a small team, we were multitasking and gain expertise in areas outside of our common field.

University Final Project (CVT model)

University Final Project (CVT model)

Motivated by the willingness to improve the performance of the Baja SAE USB prototype, I developed a final degree project which aims to describe the dynamic behavior of a transmission system called CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) applied to mini -Baja all-terrain prototypes. This project was to opt for mechanical engineering degree, earning an honorable distinction for it.

Baja SAE USB Project

Baja SAE USB Project

The Baja SAE Series is an annual competition organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers and has the objective to encourage undergraduate students to design, manufacture and test and All-Terrain vehicle prototype. There are almost 100 participants and it was a good opportunity to put in practice the knowledge acquired in class. In 2010 we achieved the 1st place in design, it has been the highest achievement in the whole team’s history, and it was of course a consequence of our hard work.
